Easter: FG Declares Friday, Monday Public Holidays

The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21 as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday celebrations.

The announcement was made on Tuesday in Abuja by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who congratulated Christians nationwide on the occasion.

Tunji-Ojo called on Nigerians to reflect on the values of sacrifice, love, and compassion exemplified by Jesus Christ, and urged citizens to use the Easter period to pray for peace, unity, and national stability.

He reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at driving growth and development across the country.

The minister also encouraged Nigerians to show kindness and extend goodwill to their neighbors during the holiday.

He wished Christians a joyful Easter and extended warm greetings to all Nigerians.
